Bee facts that blow our mindss

Honeybees are just one of more than 20,000 bee species globally that pollinate the plant life that surround us. Without these pollinators, a third of the food we eat would not be available to us. Here are just a few fun facts that continue to blow us away:

❊ It takes 12 bees their entire lifetime to make a single teaspoon of honey

❊ A single hive can gather pollen and nectar from up to 500 million flowers in a year

❊ The average life of a honey bee during the working season is about six weeks

❊ A colony of honey bees in early spring can have approximately 10,000-15,000 bees
